Mostly Cloudy and 3 C
There are many things to do in Ottawa in the summer. There are about 15 museums to visit, you can go on a tour of parliament for free (be sure to go up the Peace Tower and get a good view of Ottawa), visit the National Art Gallery, walk along the Rideau Canal (the world’s largest skating rink in the winter), visit the prime minister’s house (Stephen Harper is his name), go to a movie at the independent Bytowne Cinema, shop in the Byward Market for fresh fruits in the day and return later for some lively nightlife. For a list of Ottawa’s various festivals, visit www.ottawafestivals.ca. Of course, you can just take it easy at the Ottawa Backpackers Inn and surf the Internet (free wireless) or enjoy a free cup of coffee or tea with the hostel staff and fellow travellers.
